Catalog description

The Bronx Defenders / Mainzer Family Defense Advanced Field Clinic seeks to give students the opportunity to continue to critically examine the law and policy surrounding the family policing system (child welfare system) in New York, and to provide students with the opportunity to represent parents in more complex child abuse and neglect court proceedings. The advanced clinic will offer students an opportunity to build on the foundation of advocacy skills and substantive knowledge they gained during the first semester and will introduce students to more complex legal casework that will deepen their practical legal experience. The fall field clinic is a prerequisite to the advanced field clinic.
