Catalog description

The focus of the seminar will be to explore the history of the landlord-tenant relationship and the factors that shape how it operates in the present day, including the primacy of property ownership in American life and the various discriminatory dynamics tenants encounter in the Bronx and throughout the country. Concepts that impact housing acquisition and stability to be explored may include poverty and wealth, racial exclusion and gentrification, disability, welfare, and homelessness. Corequisite(s): LAW 8009 .
