Advanced Patent Law

Catalog description

An advanced treatment of the law and policy of the patent system. The course analyzes the theoretical and practical issues pertinent to the determination of patentability, the prosecution of patent applications, and the litigation of infringement actions. Attention is also given to important recent developments, including, cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Federal Circuit, and issues of patent reform before Congress and the U.S. Patent Office. The format is a mixture of lecture and discussion. Prerequisite(s): LAW 7574 .
