Patent Diversity Project Clinic
Yeshiva University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The Patent Diversity Project Clinic is a semester-long clinic that provides students an opportunity to work with under-represented inventors to obtain patents. Students work with the director of the program to analyze an invention's patentability, conduct prior art searches, draft provisional patent applications, and provide counseling related to patent prosecution. Students will attend an hour-long weekly seminar to learn the skills necessary to become successful patent attorneys, such as patent prosecution pitfalls and portfolio development strategies that are integral to their client's success. Students will also develop an understanding of how race and gender affect inventorship and patenting activity and explore strategies for addressing those gaps. Prerequisite(s): LAW 7574 .
