Reproductive Rights: Law and Justice

Catalog description

The capacity to become pregnant and the ability to determine when and whether to have a child are at the core of gender equity legal issues. In the United States, thousands of legislative proposals are introduced every year that impact people's ability to determine their reproductive lives and future. In this course, students will gain a unique opportunity to explore the reproductive rights legal landscape and how it has developed over time, understand the intersection between reproductive rights and other constitutional protections, and recognize how the law impacts various communities. Prerequisite(s): LAW 6501 may be taken as a prerequisite or corequisite.
