Catalog description

This course focuses on the development and operation of condominiums, cooperatives, and homeowners associations with an emphasis on the practical considerations influencing developers/sponsors, unit owners, and governing boards. Topics covered include formation, ownership structures and management. Relevant statutes, rules and case law is examined as well as the practical issues facing attorneys representing these types of housing organizations. Also covered are Offering Plans, Attorney General regulations, transfer and assignment of ownership interests, lease of units, unit owner responsibilities, house rules, defaulting owners, and board member obligations.
