Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth examination of employer-based immigration including: employment-based paths for temporary and permanent duration, workforce compliance, Department of Labor and Department of Homeland Security audits, federal pre-emption issues, alien entrepreneurs and aliens of extraordinary ability, changes in status and litigation. Nuances of the immigration code, regulations and pertinent case law will be discussed. The course is designed to provide the students with a practical tool kit to understand and deal with the fundamentals of business-immigration, including theoretical and practical concepts and their application to real-world challenges faced by employers. Recommended: Law 7781.
