Catalog description

The focus of the course is on the constitutional issues in the administration of criminal justice. Specifically, the constitutional basis for federal review of state convictions, including differing interpretations of the 14th Amendment due process clause and the effect thereof; the right to counsel and a speedy trial; the fifth amendment privilege against self-incrimination; the fourth amendment prohibition of unreasonable search and seizures, including probable cause, the warrant requirement and stop and frisk. Tested on the Bar Exam.
