Catalog description
This course offers students a deep look at the key trends in legal technology and an understanding of the ways that legal technology is changing legal practice. Students will gain familiarity with the resources that are commonly becoming available at law firms to streamline and optimize legal practice, and will understand the use of some of these technologies in the context of specific practice areas and the broader legal industry. Specific topics covered will include: themes of technological change in the legal industry; AI in legal practice; data analytics, legal project management, document and workflow automation tools, the legal innovation ecosystem, specific tools for litigation and transactional practices, and the relationship between law firm management and legal innovation. The final project will be a legal tech hackathon.
