Catalog description

Concepts and Java facilities used to create highly robust, fault-tolerant client/server applications that can scale to thousands of users. Many of these facilities are currently part of the J2EE package (Java 2 Enterprise Edition). Topics include application servers?components and EJBs (Enterprise JavaBeans?not the same as JavaBeans)? session EJBs, entity EJBs, message queuing with JMS (Java Messaging Service) and message-driven EJBs?parsing XML, network programming?TCP/IP sockets, RMI (remote method invocation), JNDI (Java Naming and Directory Interface)?Web development with JSP and servlets, Java security mechanisms, Java Web services, and SOAP.
