Teaching the Holocaust with Testimony

In this class, students will explore the challenges and opportunities of teaching the Holocaust with survivor testimony. We will explore the concepts of memory, witness, and testimonial literature and media, while looking at a variety of examples of testimony. Throughout the course we will ask, what does it mean for students to listen to voices of witness? How can seeing themselves as witnesses to testimony help students to understand the lessons of the Holocaust?
