This course delves into the critical role of data in healthcare, focusing on the acquisition, management, and analysis of health data. Students will be immersed in the principles and practices of healthcare data analytics, understanding how to harness data to drive improvements in patient care, enhance operational efficiencies, bolster the decision making process, and identify, assess, and distribute risk. The course will cover various analytical techniques and tools that are transforming the healthcare industry, along with discussions on the use related to legal frameworks such as HIPAA and protection of health information as well as ethical and privacy issues.
