Catalog description

Who decides what texts mean? Are some interpretations better than others? Does the author's intention matter? How does language work? In this foundational course, we will study texts of the cultures around us, as well as literature. May count towards Interpreting Literature and the Arts; Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1100 or ENGL 1200 . Required for the English Major and Minor.
