Catalog description

This course is designed to explore models of effective instruction and assessment in content areas as a means to determine how teachers collect and use assessment data to inform and guide effective instruction leading to strong and positive outcomes for all students, including students who demonstrate significant learning challenges. The course includes the development and design of educational experiences and lessons that meet the unique learning needs of children in early childhood and childhood classes who require curriculum adaptions and accomodations in order to optimize their learning. The course includes the principles of Universal Design for Learning and developmentally appropriate practice in order to serve the individual needs of all students.
