The Collaborative Partnership: Children with Disabilities for Families and Professionals

Catalog description

Students will be introduced to a framework for collaboration and strategies for fostering relationships with family members of children with special needs and professionals and how to address conflicts. Students will engage in simulations that focus on parent conferences and Individual Education Plan (IEP) development. Concurrent student teaching experiences will provide and reinforce an understanding of the impact of special needs on families.
