Catalog description
This course will introduce the student to the principles, techniques and materials of teaching Judaic studies subjects using problem and project based learning. Students will learn the theoretical foundations of PBL, as well as the hands-on skills necessary to implement a PBL curriculum in Jewish day schools. By the end of the class students should be able to: Identify PBL-appropriate, learner-centered, curricular goals for a Jewish educational domain, Design a driving problem or project that motivates student experiences and activities, Ensure that these experiences support the learning goals, Devise assessments that work within an inquiry classroom, and which allow the teacher to determine the extent to which the desired learning is, and has been, taking place.
