Patient Care Clinic I

Catalog description

This block provides students with their first direct clinical experiences in patient care. Emphasis is placed on infection control, patient assessment, basic preventive and restorative procedures, patient communication, and integration of biomedical knowledge into clinical decision-making. Students will begin to provide supervised care in the clinic, including examinations, prophylaxis, radiographs, and simple restorations. Reflective practice, professionalism, and patient-centered care are emphasized throughout.
