Catalog description

This simulation laboratory introduces operative dentistry fundamentals through hands-on practice with cavity preparations and restorations. Emphasis is placed on ergonomics, hand skills, and evaluation against standardized rubrics. Students learn Class I, II, III, and V cavity preparations and composite restorations, with limited introduction to amalgam. Instruction emphasizes tooth preservation, evidence-based material selection, and critical self-assessment. Faculty-guided practice, peer calibration, and progressive assessments prepare students for patient care in subsequent clinical courses.
