Catalog description

This course introduces first-year dental students to the professional and ethical foundations of dentistry. Emphasis is placed on ethical principles, professional responsibility, patient-centered communication, cultural competence, and self-assessment. Students will develop the ability to analyze ethical dilemmas, apply structured decision-making frameworks, and reflect on their evolving professional identity. Instruction includes lectures, small group case-based learning, role-playing, and reflective writing.
