Topics include prokaryotic cell structure and function, microbial nutrition, growth and control, microbial metabolism, bacteriophages, and microbial genetics. Laboratory exercises complement lectures. Laboratory fee. May count towards Public Health Minor. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 1012 and BIOL 1014 ; and CHEM 1010 or CHEM 1045 may be taken as prerequisite or corequisite. Previously offered as BIOL 4023C.
