Catalog description

This course examines how people and AI systems work together as tasks, decisions, and workflows evolve. Students learn the enabling technologies that underlie modern AI tools, how prompting structures and personas improve system performance, and how multimodal models support text, image, audio, and video production. The course emphasizes building and evaluating hybrid workflows that balance machine precision with human judgment and maintain reliability as autonomy increases. Students construct workflow prototypes, explore different forms of AI assistance, and apply structured evaluation methods-including failure-mode identification, reliability scoring, and cost-of-error reasoning-to determine when and how AI should be integrated into organizational processes or startup concepts.
