Vibration and Waves

Catalog description

Usually offered fall and spring semester. Mechanical vibrations and waves, simple harmonic motion, superposition, forced vibrations and resonance, coupled oscillations and normal modes, vibrations of continuous systems. Geometrical optics, including reflection and refraction from plane and curved surfaces, and physical (wave) optics, including interference and diffraction. Thermodynamics is also included in this course.
