Catalog description

Usually offered fall semester. Introduction to US Army tactical concepts and procedures, principles and evolution of war, and the relationship between weapons and tactics. Includes a comparative study of US and USSR organizations, advanced map reading, and terrain association, operation orders format, and concludes with a study of offensive operations(movement techniques/formations, control measure, conduct of the offense, and offensive operation order exercise). Course includes training in physical conditioning and periodic field trips. Three hours of lecture and one hour of leadership laboratory per week.
