Catalog description
This course provides an introduction to health informatics, the field devoted to the use of the data, information and knowledge to advance individual health, public health, population health and health research. The course exposes students to the ways that health information is captured and utilized for the advancement of medicine and to provide a framework to understand the types of information systems used in healthcare organizations with an emphasis on the Electronic Health Record.
