Introduction to Engineering

Catalog description
This course introduces the engineering profession. Information on the different disciplines of engineering will be presented. Professional and ethical aspects of engineering are covered. An introduction to problem solving and the engineering design process with the utilization of makerspace are covered. Students will be introduced to the process of making things, while working with modem techniques like 3D printing, CNC cutting, and programmable electronics among more traditional techniques such as sewing and woodworking. Various forms of technical communication are emphasized.
