Catalog description

Principles of physical chemistry as applied to biological and biomedical systems. Students who complete this course will gain an understanding of the physical properties of solids, liquids, and gases, the laws of thermodynamics, the properties of solutions, principles of chemical equilibria and chemical kinetics, quantum mechanical treatment of atoms and molecules, and the theory and applications of spectroscopy. The course will develop the critical thinking and computational skills of the students.
