Catalog description
This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to investigate, experience and perform major artistic expressions of Latin American culture through the lens of diverse perspectives. By leveraging interactions with local experts during the in-country immersion, students will further develop their overall knowledge about the discipline through observation, appreciation, and analysis. Through performance-based studies of Afro-Latin music, popular dance (salsa, cumbia, merengue) and theatre, students acquire aesthetic and technical skills, culminating in multiple public performances. This course is taught in Spanish.
