Catalog description
This course offers the opportunity to examine the Guatemalan culture in the context of social justice issues, both locally and internationally. Each class session will include an integration of the history, culture, practices, products and perspectives of the Guatemalan people. Through interactions with Guatemalans, coursework is designed to enhance students\2019 acquisition of the Spanish language and to develop intercultural communicative competence. This course is taught in Spanish and is held in both Cincinnati and Guatemala. Prerequisites: SPAN300 or SPAN301 Course Attributes: Humanities Elect/Integrations, Peace & Justice Studies Minor College of Arts & Sciences Classics & Modern Languages
