Catalog description

This course examines the concept of addiction as it is understood by psychologists. It is designed to provide exposure to leading theories of drug initiation, abuse and dependence. Information about the physical and psychoactive effects of the major categories of abuse and dependence producing drugs are covered. Assessment strategies and treatment modalities are discussed. Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Programs: Doctor of Psychology MA in Psychology Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate College of Health and Human Sciences School of Psychology
