Catalog description
This course serves as a capstone course for the physics major. Emphasis is placed on applying concepts and principles of classical and modern physics developed throughout the major toward an analysis of astronomical phenomena. Topics include orbital motion, star formation and evolution, compact objects, galaxy structure and formation, and cosmology. Prerequisites: PHYS340 College of Arts & Sciences Physics & Engineering
