Catalog description

This course applies the formalism developed in PHYS 376 to central potential systems, reflection and transmission, and scattering. Several techniques are introduced for obtaining approximate solutions to Schrodinger’s equations for the systems being explored. Emphasis is placed on mastering the mathematical techniques required for the course, and the application of those techniques toward obtaining approximate solutions to Schrodinger’s equation for various physical systems. Prerequisites: PHYS376 College of Arts & Sciences Physics & Engineering
