Catalog description
This course will introduce students to the principles and practice of evidence-based healthcare, with a focus on using evidence to improve clinical reasoning, interventions and outcomes in occupational therapy. Students will define evidence-based practice (EBP), pose a well-built clinical question, utilize efficient strategies to search for and find relevant literature, appraise the quality of the literature, and apply the findings to patient care by writing a critically appraised paper (CAP) using AOTA methodology. Prerequisites: OCTD501 and OCTD502 and OCTD505 and OCTD508 and OCTD510 and OCTD512 Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Programs: Occupational Therapy Doctorate College of Health and Human Sciences Occupational Therapy
