Catalog description

This is the \FB01rst and foundational course for the core of the PMHNP curriculum. The focus is on mastering assessment and diagnostic reasoning in the management of individuals and families experiencing transitions resulting in acute and chronic \00AC\00ACalterations in psychiatric/mental health status across the lifespan. Health promotion, health behaviors, and disease prevention strategies are emphasized with respect to epidemiology, risks, and growth and development. Motivational interviewing, therapeutic communication skills, and cultural competency are emphasized within the context of holistic care. Prerequisites: NURS680 and NURS756 and NURS758 Co-requisites: NURS786 Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate College of Nursing Nursing
