Catalog description
This course develops advanced diagnostic reasoning and evidence-informed management skills for comprehensive assessment, disease prevention, illness management, episodic care, and ongoing health promotion for adults and older adults for the nurse practitioner (NP). Students will examine pathophysiologic mechanisms, screening and preventive strategies, and guideline-directed treatments for acute, chronic, and episodic conditions. Emphasis is placed on formulating differential diagnoses, interpreting diagnostic studies, selecting and evaluating therapeutic interventions, managing polypharmacy and comorbidity, and integrating quality, safety, and ethical principles toward optimized person-centered outcomes. Prerequisites: NURS658 and NURS680 Co-requisites: NURS770,NURS775 Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate College of Nursing Nursing
