School Nurse Practicum

Catalog description
This course is designed as the third practicum course for students in the school nurse licensure program. It is expected that knowledge, principles and values gained from NURS 520, NURS 703, and NURS 705 will continue to be applied in NURS 707; additional skills and knowledge are added through continued synthesis and application of theory and principles from previous practicum courses and didactic courses required for school nurse licensure. Students will apply research principles taught in NURS 502 Nursing Research, to the appraisal of school health needs, and utilize content taught in EDAD 660 Curriculum Design & Teaching Strategies to design and implement health care programs. And, through communication and collaboration with others, students will establish and maintain comprehensive school health programs. Prerequisites: NURS502 and NURS520 and NURS703 and NURS705 and EDSP500 and EDAD660 Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate College of Nursing Nursing
