Catalog description

The NURS 367 Practicum course focuses on fostering skill in the clinical setting for planning, implementing, and evaluating holistic nursing interventions used to facilitate healthy outcomes for adult clients with acute medical-surgical conditions. Therapeutic communication and patient-centered care are emphasized as essential components of all nursing interactions with clients. Students will participate in weekly clinical to apply holistic nursing interventions for health promotion and disease prevention in adults experiencing acute health-illness transitions in primary, secondary, and tertiary health care settings. Clinical experiences incorporate direct patient care in the clinical setting, as well as laboratory skills and simulation. Prerequisites: NURS362 and NURS363 Co-requisites: NURS366 College of Nursing Nursing
