Catalog description
This course is an introduction to basic pharmacology for nursing practice with emphasis on the essential nursing knowledge and responsibilities related to pharmacotherapeutics. The basic mechanism of action, major indications, significant contraindications/precautions, interactions, adverse effects and therapeutic effects of relevant medications will be explored. Nursing considerations for administering, monitoring, and evaluating pharmacological therapies will be addressed. Prerequisites: NURS228 and NURS229 and NURS234 and NURS235 Co-requisites: NURS368 Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Programs: Accelerated BS in Nursing Course Attributes: 100 Percent Online No Set Meet, Accelerated BSN College of Nursing Nursing
