Catalog description
This course is an introduction to basic pharmacology for nursing practice with emphasis on the essential nursing knowledge and responsibilities related to pharmacotherapeutics. The basic mechanism of action, major indications, significant contraindications/precautions, interactions, adverse effects and therapeutic effects of relevant medications will be explored. Nursing considerations for administering, monitoring, and evaluating pharmacological therapies will be addressed. Prerequisites: NURS130 and BIOL140 and BIOL141 and BIOL142 and BIOL143 and ( SOCI101 and SOCW167) Co-requisites: CHEM150,CHEM151,NURS226,NURS227 College of Nursing Nursing
