Catalog description

This course serves as an introduction to the professional nurse. Course content includes the origin and history of nursing, scope of practice, role within the interprofessional healthcare team, and the holistic caring process. Students will be exposed to nursing theories, legal/ethical responsibilities of the nurse, informatics/technology, cultural diversities and social determinants of health to prepare students to undertake the profession in today\2019s complex world. The frameworks and skills introduced will develop student self-awareness, critical thinking, as well as oral and written communication skills. Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Majors: Nursing Nursing Course Attributes: Oral Communication Flag College of Nursing Nursing
