This course examines the music of singer/songwriter Taylor Swift in the stylistic and cultural context of her career. In this course, we will seek to understand Taylor Swift as a songwriter, working through Swift’s albums in chronological order and focusing on femininity and gender, the singer-songwriter movement, Swift’s social and cultural impact, and lyric writing.
