This course examines the music of The Beatles in the stylistic and cultural context of the late 1950s and 1960s. In addition to tracing the band\2019s evolution through songs, films, and documentaries, we investigate the styles that influenced them (such as Rock & Roll, Brill Building Pop, Motown, and Psychedelic Rock) and the artists who inspired and/or competed with them (such as Elvis, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and The Beach Boys).
