This course offers an in-depth examination of Chinese history during the beginning of the early modern period (from the 11th to the 15th centuries). The course covers three dynastic periods, the Song, the Yuan, and the Ming, with specific focuses on the social, economic, and cultural elements that fostered the early modern transition of China.
