How are art and architecture uniquely positioned to help us conceptualize and visualize transformation? This Berlin-based course will explore the city\2019s political, cultural, and physical transformation over the past century. Readings in art and architectural history; criticism and analysis; and memory, cultural, and museum studies will prepare students for an informed exploration of Berlin\2019s eclectic architectural landscape and rich museums, allowing them to identify traces of past transformations and understand contemporary artistic debates in and about change\2014in Berlin, Germany, and the world.
