Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce students to the basic principles of fluid mechanics and their application to a wide range of domains including chemical, metallurgical, biological and ecological fields. The course introduces students to the basic equations governing the mechanics of fluid flows, emphasizing a physical understanding and fundamental approaches for the analysis of a variety of fluid flow problems. Fundamentals of fluid-flow design are also explored through ANSYS simulation software. Prerequisites: MATH220 and PHYS172 College of Arts & Sciences Physics & Engineering
