Catalog description

This course is a survey of ecological criticism, or \201Cecocriticism,\201D an interdisciplinary field of inquiry that examines humans\2019 relationship to the natural world. The course introduces foundational theoretical concepts in ecocriticism, as well as emerging approaches. Course includes a substantial research project. This course will include a research assignment. Students are strongly encouraged to complete ENGL 210 Methods Workshop and/or ENGL 205: Lit & the Moral Imagination or equivalent before enrolling.\202F Prerequisites: ENGL101 or ENGL115 Course Attributes: Environ Science/Studies Elect, Humanities Elect/Integrations, Peace & Justice Studies Minor College of Arts & Sciences English
