Technologies of Gender

Catalog description

Examination of the ways in which women’s bodies are both constructed and deconstructed in postmodern culture and the ethical, social, and political implications of these processes for the well-being of women. We will focus on technologies of gender, i.e., those sets of cultural practices that make the body gendered. This course will include a research assignment.
