Catalog description

The Curriculum Strategies course provides candidates with opportunities for preparation of child centric classrooms through a Montessori lens. In this course, candidates will have the opportunity to develop strategies for designing units of study that meet the social, emotional, and cognitive needs of children as a foundation for engaged learning. Candidates will explore Montessori\2019s plan for elementary instruction (Cosmic Education) and apply this knowledge to rigorous academic content. Systems and structures that support effective lesson planning, instruction, and feedback within a culturally relevant and age appropriate context will be a main focus of this course. Prerequisites: EDME600 Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate College of Health and Human Sciences School of Education
