Catalog description
Creative Development I focuses on Health and Physical Education as well as Practical Living Skills in as embedded in the classroom setting. This course provides candidates the opportunity to explore, discover, and develop a solid understanding of the care of self and practical living skills for children ages 5-9 in the Montessori classroom. The knowledge of the Health, Physical Education (along with creative movement) and Practical Life in the Lower Elementary will be developed throughout the semester. Lessons are integrated with state and national academic content standards. The Montessori philosophy and cultural studies will build a strong foundation for the arts and movement curriculum grades K-3. This course is paired with Creative Development II and is intended to be taken prior to EDME 587. Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate College of Health and Human Sciences School of Education
