Catalog description

This is a six day course on a working farm in North Carolina. Our stay on the farm will include riding and caring for the horses, working with other farm animals, learning about organic and sustainable farming, and learning typical crafts such as carving and knitting. During this experience participants form a strong community through seminars on stewardship and sustainability, shared work projects and activities that illistrate the cycle of life and death. This course is based on the writings of Dr. Maria Montessori and her belief that through purposeful work with the hand, the mind and spirit of the child devlop.
