Catalog description

This course is designed to prepare candidates to teach math and science to children age 3 to grade 5. This course is a field experience in primary classrooms. The general learning format for the course will consist of the field experience along with writing and teaching lesson plans, reflecting on experiences in the field, and a final digital portfolio. Candidates are required to be active and reflective participants in the field experience and associated work. This course covers the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession, the NSTA Standards for Science Teacher Preparation, NCTM Standards for Mathematics Teacher Preparation, and the NAEYC Initial Early Childhood Professional Preparation Standards. Prerequisites: EDEL100 and EDFD110 and EDEC210 Co-requisites: EDEL403,EDEL404 College of Health and Human Sciences School of Education
